Where Music and Community Grow Together
Welcome to Bright Notes Kids! We are so excited to have you and your little one join our musical family. To ensure our classes are safe, joyful, and organized, please review our community guidelines below.
1. Our Location & Accessibility
Venue: Sonoma Avenue Church of Christ (2200 Sonoma Ave, Santa Rosa).
The Room: Our classes are held in the upstairs classroom.
Accessibility Note: Please be aware there is no elevator access to this space.
Strollers: For safety and fire code, strollers must be parked in the designated "Stroller Zone" on the ground floor. They are not permitted in the upstairs classroom or hallways.
2. The "Parent-and-Me" Model
Bright Notes Kids is a collaborative experience!
Stay & Play: This is not a drop-off program. A parent or legal guardian must remain in the room and be actively engaged with their child at all times.
Modeling: Your child looks to you! Your participation in singing and movement is the best way to encourage their musical development.
3. Schedule & Make-Up Policy
We know life with little ones is unpredictable.
Semester Structure: Our semesters typically run for 8–10 weeks.
The "Buffer Weeks": Every semester includes two extra weeks at the end. These are reserved for instructor make-up days in the event of teacher illness. If no classes are canceled by the instructor, the semester concludes at the end of the core 8 or 10-week block.
Student Absences: Because our classes are often at capacity, we cannot offer refunds for student absences. However, if there is space in another time slot during your current week, we will do our best to accommodate a one-time "swap" (please email 24 hours in advance).
4. Health & Safety
Sick Policy: To keep our community healthy, please stay home if you or your child has had a fever, cough, vomiting, diarrhea, or any contagious symptoms within the last 24 hours.
The "Mouth Bucket": If a child puts an instrument in their mouth (it happens!), please place it in the bin labeled "For Cleaning" immediately so it can be sanitized before the next class.
No Food/Drink: To protect the church carpets and accommodate allergies, please keep all snacks and colored drinks inside your bags. Water is always welcome!
5. Enrollment & Sibling Discounts
Class Size: Minimum of 8 children; maximum of 12 children.
Sibling Discount: We love families! We offer a $50 discount for siblings over age 1.
Infants: Siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free with a registered older sibling.
6. The "Concert Track" (Fall Semester)
Our second semester (October–December) features a special "Concert Track."
Concert Fee: A one-time production fee is charged to cover materials and the end-of-semester performance.
Attendance: Consistent attendance is highly encouraged for this track so the children feel confident for their big day!
7. Communication
As your teacher and the worship leader here at Sonoma Ave, I am always available for questions.

Do-Re-Mi & You: Focuses on music enrichment through singing, movement, and rhythmic exploration.
Grace Notes: Uses the same high-quality musical base curriculum but supplements with Christian songs and faith-based resources.

We have built two "Buffer Weeks" into the end of every semester schedule. If the instructor needs to cancel due to illness, we will use those extra weeks to ensure you get your full 8 or 10 sessions!
-
We provide a variety of age-appropriate instruments, including rhythm sticks, shaker eggs, drums, colorful scarves, and more. All instruments are thoroughly sanitized between every class.
-
To keep our little musicians healthy, we ask that you and your child be fever-free and symptom-free for at least 24 hours before attending class.
-
It is perfectly normal for toddlers to explore with their mouths! We keep a dedicated "Mouth Bucket" in the classroom. If an instrument is mouthed, simply drop it in the bucket so it can be deep-cleaned before the next use.
